Supplies:
– A piece of wood cut to the size you want your painting to be. (I used particleboard that I pulled out a construction garbage bin while my husband made fun of me)
– A hexagon stencil. For my stencil I just printed off a hexagon shape onto heavy cardstock and then cut it out.
– Pencil
– Yardstick or a large poster board with straight edge
– Craft paint in the color combination you desire
– Paintbrush
First, I wanted to create a straight line where the top of my painting would begin. Using poster board I aligned the top edge of the poster board with the side of my wood piece and traced a straight line all the way across the top. This line acted as a reference line for the rest of my painting.

Love your blog and I love how you ask for what readers want all the time. I am only writing to say that I love the new layout of the site, but the pictures aren’t showing up in feedly like they used to. Just thought I would let you know, and if that is on purpose that is fine, but just a heads up, as you have such great photos! Thanks and please keep writing!

Hi Aron, thanks for the information about the photos. It’s certainly not intentional, so I’ll see what I can do. Thanks!
