Sweet, tart & easy to make!
Water, granulated sugar & fine sugar, fresh cranberries, and fresh ginger (optional)
Ingredients Needed for Sugared Cranberries
Warm the water, sugar and ginger over low heat until sugar is dissolved (make sure not to boil the water!), and pour over the cranberries.
Cover and refrigerate over night
The next day, strain the cranberries, reserving the steeping liquid if you wish.
Working in batches, gently toss the cranberries in the superfine sugar until well coated.
If you don't have superfine sugar, you can make your own by adding granulated sugar to a food processor or blender, and pulsing till fine.
Place on a lined baking tray and let sit until the cranberries are dry and sugar has hardened.
You can eat the cranberries as is, as a yummy snack! Or use them as a drink garnish, atop a holiday pie, or as a complement to a charcuterie board. They also make great gifts!
