Dress / Duster – Knot Sisters via Nordstrom (I’m wearing a small); Chewed Hem Jeans – Madewell via Nordstrom (fits pretty true to size); Metallic Loafers – Free People via Nordstrom (these come in a ton of colors & are so comfortable, also under $100), Tank – Loft; Bag – AllSaints via Nordstrom (no longer available, but almost identical style linked) After our last photo shoot session went South when I noticed a belt askew, I decided to enlist the help of my long time friend and family photographer, Miranda. Needless to say, Art is very appreciative of this new development, as am I. The photos were not only shot perfectly, but she also managed to make me look half-way decent. 🙂 I originally purchased this dress, intending to wear it only as a dress, until the other day, in a hurry to get changed, I slid on a pair of jeans before I had actually taken off the dress. I looked in the mirror and was surprised to find it actually looked pretty cute. And so a new outfit was born. Know though, that it looks just as cute as a dress, but I do feel like it works best when belted, although that’s not how it’s styled on the website. It definitely looks great with heels and tennies too, so I love the versatility in being able to dress it up or down.  I held on to these new jeans for a few days before I decided to keep them. I wasn’t sure how much I liked the chewed hem. I’ve seen tons of cute frayed hem styles, but this one is unique in that it’s just sorta chewed up. After trying them on a couple of times though, they definitely grew on me, and I especially love that they are primarily cotton with just a bit of elastene in them. This means they look and feel more like a true pair of denim and less like a pair of spandex leggings, like so many jeans these days. More flattering too 😉 The new Madewell denim all seem to come with these new compression pockets, which is kind of a neat concept. Don’t worry, they don’t feel like a pair of Spanx; they’re very comfortable, but they provide just a bit of tummy smoothing action. What will they think of next?!?And I originally saw these slides in the Nordstrom Fall catalog, and tried them on in-store. They’re very soft and comfortable and look so cute with denim as well as dresses. I had no idea they came in multiple colors, as I probably would’ve picked up black pair as well. I could still do that of course, but I think I’m just about done with Fall shopping for the time being. If they go on sale though…that’s another story! 😉 I have a couple of more fun posts coming up this week that I’m excited to share with you, so stay tuned 🙂 Let me know if you have any questions about the items listed here!
